The 1.5-inch Tungsten Cube is machined from a single billet of 99.95% pure tungsten and finished by hand to a precision brushed surface that catches light differently at every angle.
Pick it up and your brain misreads the information it is receiving. Objects this size are not supposed to weigh this much. Set it down and it stays put. It does not slide. It does not tip. It simply exists, machined to tight tolerances, and will outlast everything else on your desk by centuries.
Tungsten is extraordinarily difficult to machine. Its hardness and its 3,422°C melting point demand specialised tooling and feed rates slow enough to destroy standard carbide cutters. The cube you receive is the product of industrial precision machining that most metals simply cannot tolerate.
It has no practical use on a desk. That is the point. It exists to demonstrate one of the most remarkable properties in the physical world: that something this small can have this much mass.
